This Long Point Trail Elopement was perfect. A lot of what I do as Fayetteville wedding photographer is last minute. Like Josh contacted me a few days before they came to Fayetteville from Memphis to elope at the famous Long Point Trail in the New River Gorge. He seemed surprised when I told him I am often contacted the week of for smaller events. I’m really happy it worked out.
If you have been to Long Point when its nice out then you probably saw people. Like a lot of them. I told Josh I was concerned we would get there and there be a crowd, which you don’t want for an intimate moment like this. I recommended we start out at 7am to beat the crowd and also to catch some softer light coming up from behind us.
As we made out way along the trail we passed no one, which is what we wanted. It was us three and famed officiant, Mathew Anderson, the vow guy , and we got out to the main overlook in about 20 minutes, which is fast. Kim and Josh were excited and set a fast pace, they were also up all night haha. As we got to the main overlooked we were met by a blanket of clouds. This I didn’t expect and was a bit worried it wouldn’t break. But it did and it gave of a surreal vibe that not many of us get to see in our day to day lives and hikes out there. It was gorgeous.
