Small ceremony with a chance of showers at Babcock State Park. Babcock State Park Wedding.
Where does one even begin? This day started with plans of a short ceremony at Babcock State Park and a small reception at one of its shelters. What was never planned for was the incessant down pour of rain right at ceremony time.
When Kelsey first reached out to me I was booking a good amount of shoots at Babcock, and since its one of my favorite places to shoot I was all about it! The plan was simple: photos of her at their cabin, seeing her dad, heading to the ceremony and than the couples portraits. As it was starting to look like showers, we were on the fence about delaying it some, but Kelsey was like “no, we are doing this!”
When Kelsey made her way down and locked eyes with Cody, it was obvious that rain or shine, this two were for each other. As the ceremony continued, it started ot rain harder. I always shoot weddings with two cameras and in the downpour I had one fail for a bit. The photos were still good and the camera and lens is working great, just a little bit of water caused it to stop functioning until it was dried. It rained HARD!
After the cermeony we made the decision to meet up another day – one with less rain – and do the couples portraits. It went great. It was such a lovely day and Kelsey’s dress and Cody’s suot was perfect. Below are some of my favorite images form their day.
