Blackwater Falls Wedding in Davis, WV, by WV wedding photographer Chris Jackson
This Blackwater Falls wedding was, simply put, a party. The day started with both the bride and groom getting ready at their cabins in the state park in Davis, WV. The Blackwater Falls cabins are really nice and made for a good location to start documenting their day. I have shot a ton of weddings at Blackwater Falls State Park, but this was a definite first in their cabins.
As the day went on, we made our way to Pendleton Point. The point’s view is one of the most iconic in the state and I think one of the best places for a outdoor wedding. It’s easy access from the parking lot and open space makes it ideal for any gathering of any size.
This ceremony was short. One of the shortest I have shot in a long time. I am seeing more and more brief ceremonies and must say I dig it. It of course leaves more time to party! After the formalities of leaving the ceremony site, we did family and bridal party photos. The reception was held at the immediate shelter and it was perfect. The shelter has a large event room complete with fire place and hearth.
This was a really fun wedding and I cannot say enough about Cass and Avrey. They always made my second, Shane Warren, and I feel like guests instead of workers – which is always a huge plus. I wish them both the very best!
