A short jaunt around Thomas and a night cap at the Billy Motel with a Dolly Sods engagement in between.
This Dolly Sods engagement….I’m pretty sure I would pass up a lot of things, but hanging out and photographing Brian and Austin around Thomas, W.Va., Dolly Sods and Davis’ The Billy Motel would be a hard pass. This couple booked me for their 2021 wedding at Capon Crossing Farm and we wanted to get out in the Potomac Highlands for a nice Fall engagement shoot. I proposed a few places, but Dolly Sods and Thomas kept coming back to me. So we decided on it and bam what a gorgeous autumn day it was!
We met up for coffee at Tip Top in Thomas. Never been? go. Then we ventured around some of Thomas for a few looks. It is such a cool town and is always worth a trip to regardless of the direction you’re heading. Dolly Sods. It’s an icon and its so true. There aren’t many places like it. We ventured aorund up there for a bit dodging people and caught a pretty fantastic sunset. Then it was back to one of my favorite towns in the state and region – Davis. I have stayed at the Billy at least 20 + times and simply loves its vibe and lounge – try the food too! The retro lounge just screams good photos. We had to have a stop in. Thanks to Josh at the Billy for letting us get in. A little toast and a nightcap round before we parted ways. These two rock and rocked their session.
I think the photos will speak for themselves. So, just look below.
