Relaxed autumnal wedding at the Guesthouse at Lost River in the Potomac Highlands.

Coursey and Collin have been coming to the Guesthouse at Lost River seemingly for years, they said. They fell in love with its rustic charm, its rolling mountains and its relaxed view, not to mention the two fantastic hosts, Gary and Jesse. The two viewed this as the ideal to host their fall wedding a couple hours west of DC. They said this wasn’t going to be a traditional wedding in the sense that they were, well already married (in court). They wanted to throw a party with a short ceremony. And they did excellently!

The sequences on the dress and the orange dress coat says it all. These two weren’t stressing that wedding day thing. Daniel, who owns and operates Flowers by Daniel in DC did the makeup as well as an amazing floral array – he does phenomenal work! You can see his mastery in the makeup and flowers  photographs below. The entertainment was provided by the always gracious Jimmy Lee out of Winchester, Va. And the food? Well, the Guesthouse never disappoints.

It was a seasonably warm, sunny October as Coursey and Collin exchanged their vows outside on the rustic inn’s patio as the county’s towering mountains gave a stunning view of the area below. I had a blast with these two and consider them both friends now. Afterwards, we made it out for some portraits around the grounds as the guest tasted the lovely appetizers and libations. We shot long into sundown, which  always provides some cool fall images. If you are looking for a wedding venue close to pretty much everything with a quiet, relaxed vibe then hit up the folks at the Guesthouse. Below are osme of my favorite images from their day.
