Wintry wedding by Snowshoe WV Wedding Photographer at Snowshoe Resort in Snowshoe, WV.
For Misha and Erik, trips to Snoeshow Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, WV, was where they looked to go for their winter get aways. Making trips through those winding hills and mountains were always a welcome to plan once the temps started to dip and snow began to fall. So, it makes sense that they chose to tie-the-knot at 4,848′.
The day started with both Misha and Erik getting ready around the mountain. Whiskey and mimosas summed up the first part of their day perfectly. They were hoping for snow. Lots of snow, but they got a dusting, which maybe for their guests, was a good thing. The ceremony was held at the St Bernard Catholic Chapel, which is gorgeous inside. After the ceremony and confetti exit, we made our way back in for family and wedding party photos. I prefer to do those right after the ceremony. Then we made it outside.
For Misha and Erik, getting photos of them with their two dogs was a high priority. They cooperated for the most. Then we got around for a couple vista view shots with the wedding party. The cold wind, which is synonymous with Snowshoe in the winter, began to pick up and we really wanted to incorporate a ski lift in some of the images. We made it over to the lift at Western Territory, which was closed at that time, for a quick session.
Then it was time to party back at the Elk River Inn and Touring Center just a few miles from the base of the mountain. That place is awesome! and the food is top-notch. The small, intimate wedding was complimented by the country inn that the Elk River Inn reflects. It was perfect. After the formalities, the party started to get a lot looser and we ended the night with a sparkler exit. Below are some of my favorite images from their day.
