A sunset hike along the rim of Beauty Mountain in Fayetteville, WV.
I met this couple after being refereed from a fellow photographer friend to document their wedding. Mandi and Frank are both from Ohio, but are now living and working in Charleston. We were talking of places to meet up for a quick engagement shoot and I proposed Beauty Mountain after they jumped at the chance to come to the New River Gorge. Sometimes taking folks along hundred foot rock walls can cause a little anxiety – not these two. They nailed it.
We headed to one of my favorite spots along the rim to share a quiet moment overlooking a slight bend in the gorge. We were hoping for a decent sunset as the sky was clear, so I had them enjoy some alone time while I setup a softbox to try and capture the bold sunset.
