A cyclists wedding at The Confluence Resort.
I met Andy not too long after moving back to Fayetteville. He is a hella rad dude and consider him a good friend. One thing I’ll never forget is one time while riding mountain bikes it was getting dark I turned on my light. I looked over at him and he didn’t have one. I was thinking ‘well he is screwed’ right? Nah, he said he didn’t like to ride with lights at night – ‘I was like is this guy for real!?’ Well turns out he was. That is his style, simple, easy and to the point. So after riding more miles with him I eventually met this lady named Abbie, his girlfriend. Man those two seem pretty right for each other I thought – both sharing a love for bikes and so on. They meshed well.
But, you see, Andy just never seemed the type to marry. I mean they were living together, working in downtown Fayetteville, and doing all the things that couples do except they weren’t “married.” Well, eventually it kinda happened that they decided for the sake of throwing a party for friends and family they would just accept the inevitable flows of our ways and get hitched. Needless to say I was humbled to document their wedding. See, I have a LOT of photos of Andy on bikes. Lots. I even helped get him on the cover of Blue Ridge Outdoors, or he helped me? And when they asked me to shoot their wedding I was humbled, but I figured now was my chance to get more photos of Abbie, haha. Anyways, I love these two people very much and it isn’t always you get to shoot two people’s wedding you care a lot about. And, being them, they road off on a Surly Big Fat Dummy. Here are some of my favorites from their day. Cheers.
