Intimate outdoor wedding at Burnwood in the New River Gorge.
There is something special about being asked to photograph a couple’s wedding that are not only your friends, but that you think highly of. It comes with a level of great responsibility, but also a humble feeling. Cara and Gabe are amazing people. Their warm, inviting home, surrounded by an inviting garden with food for days is a testament to how they are choosing to raise their two adorable girls. These are people that are doing it right.
When I was asked to document their day I surprised to learn that they weren’t already married. That shows the people they are. I met up with Cara at her home in Fayetteville to capture the details and her getting ready before we heading to Burnwood, part of the New River Gorge National River, for their small outdoor wedding. Emotions shown below. We were able to quickly head to Beauty Mountain for a little vista work for portraits before back for the party. I am so honored I had the chance to capture this moment and grateful to know this family.
