Intimate Babcock State Park Wedding at its very best – Fall!

This Babcock State Park Wedding was simply perfect. Anytime I make photos there its always a real joy. Its not only a gem of Fayette County, WV, but its a gem of the state. There is little wonder why so many photographers and tourists flock to this marvel in the Fall to see rich colors around the iconic Grist Mill on Glade Creek. For Lisa and Darren they had never been to the state park, but only found it while looking for beautiful locations to have their small intimate wedding. Darren said he thought it was the prettiest place he’d ever seen.

Like so many weddings in 2020, this one was short and had a small list of guests. I am really liking these streamlined weddings. The day started waiting around in the parking lot while bug spray was put on liberally as we all chatted and waiting for the bride to show. The officiant was Mathew Anderson, who is bets known as the Vow Guy, and he did an excellent job ushering everyone down to the creek to begin. It was as a quick ceremony as the two exchanged their vows, rings and kissed. Afterwards we had a quick family and wedding party photo session before we ventured around the park for some more couples photos – eventually heading back up to their cabin where we parted ways. And yes, we have threw in a little steampunk theme for a couple images in front of the Grist Mill.
