A Game of Thrones themed Four Fillies Lodge wedding as winter is coming.

When Perla first approached West Virginia Wedding Photographer Chris Jackson Photography for her wedding at Four Fillies Lodge, I didn’t have a clue it was going to be GoT themed. Its one of my favorite shows and man they knocked it out of the park. John and his groomsmen dressed in all black and Perla in adorned a stark white dress as her ladies wore dark dresses. It was on point. It also helped with the the them that their dog, a big white and gray husky, was with John as he walked down the aisle. Good thing he didn’t leave him at home as Stark gave Ghost away in the latter season of the show. It really made the ceremony!

Four Fillies Lodge in Peterstown was the ideal setting for this themed wedding. Carlin and the rest of the staff at the Monroe County venue did a fantastic job getting the settings just right. The photos almost don’t do it justice. The day started with getting ready at two of their many venues at Four Fillies Lodge.

As the ceremony drew near.

Once the outfits were on and the hair perfect we wrapped up some quick formals before we made our way to the ceremony site. Four Fillies has several ceremony locations and the one that Perla and John choose was fantastic. It was in a stand of maple trees along Rich Creek. It was an absolutely perfect October day. My assistant, Shane Warren, and I captured the ceremony as unobtrusively as we could. Tears. Smiles and cheers were abound as the officiant, Matthew Anderson said “you may kiss the bride.” It could not have been any better.

After the exit we got the formalities out of the way with family and bridal party sets. We had enough time to squeeze in a few locations around the property for their couples portraits. As we wrapped up and made our way into Four Fillies’ great hall, DJ Josh Ruby with Bravo Live (seriously I cannot recommend them enough) was getting the party started. Introductions were presented by Perla and John after their entrance and then it was time to eat.

Getting things popping.

Perla’s family came to dance. No slight to Johns’s but could tell from the beginning of the day that they were going to throw down on the dance floor. And they didn’t disappoint. That was one of the best reception dances i have photographed. Just check the photos out. As the night concluded we made way for brisk sparkler exit – sans White Walkers thankfully. I wish these two the very best and look forward to working at Four Fillies Lodge in the future.
