Intimate West Virginia Wedding at Trinity Episcopal Church with a reception at Nomada

This Huntington, WV, wedding by Chris Jackson Photography in was a breath of fresh air during covid. Lets face it, everyone and thing has been rocked by this pandemic. One of the most important milestones in ourlives is gathering for a wedding. Its the bedrock of families and a turning point in life. Seeing Emily and Tyler’s families come together with covid tests and a small, immediate family only gathering really made capturing their wedding day extra special. As a person paid to document a day, the fast relationships one builds during this time is so easier when there are only a dozen or so. It also makes photographing people so much more easier and always brings out a genuine candid feel. If you like to photograph weddings, than there is nothing more to ask for.

The Huntington wedding was held at Trinity Episcopal Church. I don’t photograph too many church weddings, but I always enjoy them and this church in particular was just awesome. Its design and architecture is just fabulous and it lent to just perfect backdrops for Emily and Tyler’s ceremony. It was so easy photographing this couple on their wedding day, having spent some time trudging through the New River Gorge for their engagement session. I SO, SO, SO recommend we do a engagement if we can. It will always make it much easier to be in front of camera on your wedding day. The photos below will better tell their wedding than I will.

The reception was held at Nomada in downtown Huntington – wow! That place is SO good! And was perfect for this small family reception. An introduction, a toast, dinner and dancing was how the night went. It was great and I was honored to get to document Emily and Tyler’s Huntington wedding.
