Wintry engagement session at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Snowshoe wedding and engagement photographer.
Lyndsy and Dan traveled from New Jersey to meet up with some college friends for a weekend of skiing and relaxing at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, W.V. They contacted me a few months out to see if I could shoot their engagement. And being a snowshoe wedding photographer I said yes! I live less than two hours from the resort and always jump at a chance to get up their with couples. We met up and ventured around the mountain shooting at a few locations I thought would look good with them. They killed it. We eventually made our way down to Shavers Lake for a few scenes down there and of course a snowball fight ensued!
Snowshoe is one of the highest villages in the country and the ski resort has a couple of long runs of over a mile long. It is. Something to consider is that at 4,848 feet in elevation the mountain has a steady, strong wind in the winter time – hair up ladies! I told them I could bring my skis in order to get out on the slopes and get some action, fun shots like that – but they passed.
I know the mountain pretty well and am always open to exploring some of the off-beat places. Want to strap some snowshoes on? Let’s do it. Want to grab a couple beers or a fun session at the waffle cabin? Let’s do it. There is a pretty nice covered bridge just down the mountain that I’ve been dying to use for a backdrop. Maybe even Cass? I am available for weekend shoots too and working with a few days to get the images you want captured. I’m always booking winter engagement sessions at Snowshoe so make sure to ask about my exclusive winter engagement deals at Snowshoe.
