As a wedding photographer, there are few things better than documenting an awesome couple at a breathtaking venue. I’m really not sure there is anything better in this profession than that. Blackwater Falls State Park is for sure one of the bets places to get married in the Mid-Atlantic. For Sarah and Roman, their wedding was primo. Every now and then you get to weddings that are just so well thought out and planned. Weddings that are so well decorated and orchestrated that it makes you stop and take all in between frames. This is one of them.

The day started with Sarah and Roman getting ready at some of Blackwater Falls State Park’s newest cabins close to Pendelton Point. Pendleton is one of the two iconic views of the Blackwater Canyon – the other being Lindy Point. Pendelton Point is where their wedding and reception was held. It is breathtaking to say the least. Wine, ale, claw and water all make up the perfect libations for getting ready and as they went through those with ties and make up we moved on to the first look. I love these – just look at the photos below.

Following the first look we made our way over to the lake at Blackwater Falls, which was a first for me. Go check it out. It is super nice and made the family and bridal party contrast well with the rugged canyon that Pendleton Point is so famous for. Then it was on to the reason we all went to Davis, WV, for. The ceremony! It was perfect and well executed by Roman’s uncle, the officiant. Then on to more family photos, reception, amazing food by the never disappointing Farm Up Truck (a must if visiting Tucker County, WV). Then dancing and some hilarious flower toss and garter grab – just look, trust me 🙂

This wedding was awesome and I cannot say enough for Sarah and Roman. It was a humble pleasure to document their day.
