Mega chill New River Gorge elopement with a reception at Adventures on the Gorge.

Honestly, this wave of New River Gorge elopements has really been a refresher for me going into my 14th-year documenting weddings. I simply LOVE them. Give me all of them. I will take them and make your experience so astounding and give you photos you will cherish. Ashley and Fletcher’s elopement in the New was just so amazing. I produced what I think has been one of my favorite portraits I have made her in the National Park. It is the main one feature on this post. I used an off-camera studio light and the mood of the sky and the couple were just so perfect. I’ve been told it looks like a German romantic painting. I totally agree.

Where? Where? Where?

My favorite place to shoot New River Gorge elopements is at Beauty Mountain. It has the best access and in my opinion the best views. We setup with Ashley and Fletcher right from the car with about 10 people including the top-notch officiant, Mathew Anderson of the Vow Guy. The ceremony was short and sweet then we made it around for some couples portraits. This place has the best spots – truly.

Then we made our way to a small reception at the iconic Adventures on the Gorge. This venue is one of my favorites in the state and always offers high-quality food to pair with the views.
