Intimate Seneca Rocks Wedding in front of a Gorgeous Rock Wall
This Seneca Rocks wedding was truly a bucket list wedding for me. I have been to Seneca many, many times. I have hiked up to the top. Though I have never photographed a wedding at this iconic West Virginia hiking, climbing, camping and photography spot. So, when Karin and Tyler reached out for a wedding here I obviously said, yes, please, please, please. This Rockville, Md., couple is absolutely aces. Judging by the photos below, one can assume they are climbers and they put a lot of value in getting photos at some of the bases to some of their favorite climbs. They also traveled to the New River Gorge where I am located for their engagement session prior to climbing.
Karin and Tyler told me this Seneca Rocks wedding would be intimate and chill. And gosh was it ever! Everyone was so kind and welcoming to my assistant and I. We really were made to feel more like guests than a vendor. The day started with a first look at Roy Gap Rd. followed by some series rock scrambling for some truly amazing photo locations. Full transparency, I do not climb. I have lived with climbers, dated climbers and live in a outdoor destination town with lots of climbers. I respect it, but it isn’t my thing. So, when Tyler said if we hear someone yell “rock” to seek cover fast. I appreciate that Tyler, big time!

I have to also say that the charcuterie board at this reception has go to be one of the single best ones I have seen at a wedding. Thus, I stuffed my face some with it as the party vibes were beginning. I love intimate weddings as they make you feel so much more than a person there to document, which I take with the upmost seriousness. The food slapped as well. Fish Hawk Acres has become my only caterer I recommend now. Why? They just do the best. Hands down. Hit them up. As the sun set and the fires were being lit we were left watching climbers repelling down the front of Seneca Rocks with lights. I was so happy to be there with this couple and their friends and family. I am so happy I got to document their day.
